Alfonso Tomas Pagaduan Araullo
Alfonso Tomas Pagaduan Araullo was born on October 19, 1982 popularly known as Atom Araullo, is a Filipino journalist, model, TV presenter, triathlete, and occasional actor.
Atom Araullo was born as Alfonso Tomas Pagaduan Araullo on October 19, 1982, the youngest child and only son of Miguel and Carol Araullo. He has an older sister, Alessandra "Sandra" Araullo-Gonzales, who is also a triathlete. Being the son of a lobbyist family, Araullo burned through the greater part of his youth days with his folks doing battling it out during the Marcos tyranny. This has exposed him to the political battle in this nation. During his initial primary school days, his folks exposed him to sports and the theater. Thus, he turned out to be a piece of a few plays and has joined different rivalries as a marathon runner.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• He completed his elementary education at the Ateneo de Manila, and his secondary school training at the Philippine Science High School. Araullo graduated with a Bachelor of Science certificate in Applied Physics from the University of the Philippines. There he turned into an individual from the League of Filipino Students (LFS), just as the director of the Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights - UP (STAND-UP). He likewise won as Councilor in the UP Diliman University Student Council appointment of 2003, collecting the most elevated number of votes.
• Araullo is a national Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and was conferred the title after undertaking missions to visit dislodged families in Mindanao, Bangladesh, and Jordan.
• He is also an advocate for environmental conservation, notably in marine ecosystems. He received a star on the Eastwood City Walk of Fame on November 21, 2017.
• He started his news reporting career with GMA network where he featured in the “ATOMic Sports” segment of 24 Oras. He moved to ABS-CBN in 2005 where he hosted Red Alert and Umagang Kay Ganda. On September 15, 2017, left ABS-CBN and on September 21, 2017, returned to GMA Network to concentrate more on documentaries and narratives.
• He won several awards such as Best Morning Show Host on Golden Laurel: Lycean Choice Media Awards 2016, Best Public Service Program Host on Gandingan Awards 2017, and recently Gold Camera Award: Investigative/Special Reports Documentary for "Babies4Sale.PH” & "No Leftovers" U.S. International Film & Video Festival 2019.
